"Working Together We Can Make A Difference"

The Calaveras County Sheriff's Volunteer Unit is a group of highly motivated citizen volunteers who assist your Sheriff and his Department by performing numerous administrative and community oriented duties that have resulted in reduced crime and increased safety for the citizens of Calaveras County.
Administration: The Sheriffs Volunteer Unit is a self governing non-profit organization which like the Sheriff's Department has a paramilitary rank structure including Operations Bureau Captain and appointed volunteer staff.

The Calaveras Sheriff's Volunteer Unit is in need of serious minded mature people to perform various duties such as Sheriff Sub-Station operation, residential, business and school patrols in marked patrol vehicles and other non-law enforcement duties. Training is provided and background checks are made on all applicants. Senior citizens welcome! History of the Volunteer Unit

Under direct supervision Volunteers maneuver through the in-house defensive driving course.
Training in radio procedures, traffic control, CPR classes, and office procedures are also provided. |
