Rita T. Downs, M. Ed., MPA - Director
Calaveras County Mental Health Program is an integral part of the Calaveras County Health Services Agency composed of Public Health and Behavioral Health Services. The Mental Health Program's mission is to provide accessible mental health services in a continuum of care within the community for children, adults, seniors and their families. The department strives to continually improve the coordination and integration of public and private sector services for individuals and families in order to achieve positive outcomes and increased health and well being.
The staff members of the Mental Health Program are committed to providing effective intervention to improve the ability of a person suffering from mental illness to participate as fully possible in his or her community and personal life. All services are provided under strict confidentiality as required by professional ethics and State and Federal laws. Participation in mental health services is voluntary but does require a commitment from those we serve to meet appointments and cooperate with treatment recommendations.
