Home repairs can be very costly, and many low-income homeowners can not afford to make needed repairs, or do not qualify for financing through typical sources. Yet, your family's safety depends on your home being in good repair. Calaveras County can assist you with low-interest loans, deferred loans, or other types of loans depending on your income level and need.
You may qualify for a home repair loan even if you have been turned down by other lenders.
The application process is simple, and there is no cost.
- Who is Eligible? - "Low-income" homeowners - AND/OR - landlords (investors) whose tenants are low-income may qualify for low-interest home repair loans. Low income is defined as a household that earns 80% or less than the Calaveras County median income.

- Properties That Are Eligible - Residential property (excluding property located in the City of Angels Camp) needing health and safety repairs may be eligible for this home repair program.
Examples of eligible home repairs are:
Roofs - Plumbing - Electrical Systems - Foundations - Heating Windows - Siding - Handicapped Accessibility - and more
- Affordable Rates - Interest rates for home repair loans from the County are 0%, 3%, or 5%, depending on the type of loan awarded. If you are elderly, disabled, or have a very low income you may qualify for a deferred loan, which means there will be no payments on the loan. Most loans are typically for 15-30 years.
