General Plan Update - Alternatives Report   

 

  • The General Plan Update (GPU) Alternatives report is now available for review and will be the subject of a series of community meetings (see schedule posted below).  The GPU is now in POhase 4 - Public Review of the alternatives.  The purpose of the alternatives report is to start the discussion of the preferred General Plan land use alternative by identifying and analyzing three possible future land use scenarious.  The preferred alternative will likely not be one of the three described in the report but instead will consist of parts of the alternatives combined with community input and direction the Board and Commission provide staff.

State Housing Element Law (Government Code Section 65580 (et seq.)) mandates that local governments must adequately plan to meet the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. This Calaveras County Housing Element Background Report provides current (2009) information on household characteristics, housing needs, housing supply, land inventory for new development, housing programs, and constraints.
