Mosquito Control
Controlling mosquitoes starts with finding where mosquitoes live. Many times this may be in and around your house, in a field, or near parks and schools. |

Weekly trapping and monitoring of adult mosquito populations and West Nile virus will be performed during the mosquito breeding season in your neighborhoods county wide. A CO2 Baited EVS trap, or a Gravid trap will be placed in your neighborhood to count the number and species of adult mosquitoes.
|
After collecting the traps and counting the mosquitoes, we survey all surrounding areas in search of the breeding location. When mosquito larvae are found, they are treated on the spot, and monitored for the remainder of the season.

A Utility vehicle is used on dry grassy areas, as well as difficult terrain. |
|
When mosquito larvae are found one of three things may take place:
|
|
1. Water source is treated with chemical to kill mosquito larve
2. Mosquito fish are either deposited, or targeted for placement
3. Water source is drained per owner's approval

When adult mosquito numbers warrant, adulticiding in the form of Truck Mounted Fogging will occur. This usually is the result of high numbers of Culex tarsalis mosquitoes, or a recent WNV positive sample in the area.
Every attempt will be made to find the breeding source after the adult population has been reduced.
